With most of the leaves already having fallen, it was time to head into our Japanese Garden to clean up the large amount of leaf litter. There were also a number of the azalea bushes which needed the dead flowers removed before the raking and clean up began.
Lots of leaves from the 3 large cherry trees! |
With thanks to Ralph Halnon, a member of the Australian Japanese Model Railway Group who have exhibited at many of our Japanese Festivals over the years. Ralph and his wife Robyn have attended our Executive Committee meetings and this morning Ralph traveled from Newport to attend our working bee! We greatly appreciate your support and friendship Ralph!
A much tidier garden after our working bee. |
Also, a regular at our working bees has been Adrian Thomas who is on our Executive Committee and was one of our members who attended the Japan Festival in Box Hill last Sunday.

We also appreciated Frankston High School Senior Campus Principal Helen Wilson delivering a plate of delicious scones to keep up our energy levels during the morning.
Our small but efficient team after the clean up! |
Footnote: My guess is that the overnight wind and rain has removed the remaining leaves and deposited them on the garden! Oh well, it looked good when we finished yesterday.
